Confidentiality policy
Everything that happens in a consultation remains confidential between therapist and patient, with the following exceptions:
-
I may discuss aspects of the work with another colleague for supervisory purposes, however patients’ identity will remain protected.
-
It may be necessary to share certain aspects of confidentiality if required by law, although this is rare.
-
I may share confidentiality with a GP or other medical professionals involved if I believe a patient is likely to cause serious injury to themselves or to someone else.
